Molds are hand carved

Each piece in a collection starts out as an idea then carved into clay. This becomes the mold that the glass will eventually be laid on top of and slumped into using heat. Annie herself carves each mold from scratch.

Sheet glass gets cut

Window shield glass is cut by hand or by waterjet for more complicated designs like Lotus. This is the best glass to use because it is dishwasher safe and super durable.

Designs are applied

Patterns like Birdsong are screenprinted onto the flat glass and edges for designs like Mod and Roman Antique are hand painted onto the flat glass before going into the kiln. This ensures the gold and platinum are sealed into the glass when it gets fired.

The decorated glass is then placed onto the mold inside the kiln at extremely high temperatures, This sets the metal design into the glass and slumps the glass into the mold creating the shape of the bowl or plate.
