Dining for Women - Foodie Friday
Changing the world one dinner at a time is the motto of Dining for Women, the world's largest educational giving circle dedicated to transforming the lives and eradicating poverty among women and girls in the developing world visit Diningforwoman.org
Each month chapters meet to share a meal together, usually in a someone's home, while learning about grassroots projects that empower women and girls.
There is no minimum donation asked, just what you may have spent for a meal out. Everyone brings something to share once a month. There is a presentation and speaker.
I've learned so much going to these meetings; health care in Haiti, sewing circles in India, rehabilitation for human trafficking of girls and women in Cambodia, protection for girls going to school in Pakistan and more. It has taught me how fortunate we are.
I had the privledge of hosting a meeting twice. Last night 29 women came together in my home to learn about the educational program called Caravans to Class for children and mother's in Timbuktu, Mali.
Meeting new members and hearing of other projects was inspiring and rewarding. Seeing and tasting someone else cooking on Annieglass was part of the fun for me. Of course, we had enough dishes.... but not enough wine glasses!
I invite you to find a meeting where you live, visit the website or start your own!
Our a delicious fruit tart on our Ruffle Pedestal Cake Plate.
