The first time I visited Persnickety I fell in love with the quaintly refurbished purple and lime green barn, the wonderfully imaginative displays, the great mix of product and the attention to details. The store works in such lovely harmony, and has become one of my favorite places to visit whenever I am in the South.
Ably run by 2 generations of the Rogers family--Randy and Ben, their son, B.C. Rogers III and his wife Kim, the store is located In Madison, Miss.just outside of Jackson, the state capitol. The area is dotted with lakes and beautiful homes. Madison maintains a quaint, village-like ambience expressive of Southern living, and Persnickety’s offerings enhance this gracious lifestyle.
Persnickety has something for every possible occasion. Brides are especially well cared for by Flo Bryan, who has developed a well-appointed bridal selection. Throughout her career as a bridal registry consultant, Flo has become very experienced with selling Annieglass, and has helped continue Annieglass’ tradition as a sought after wedding gift.
“The question at Persnickety isn’t ‘How many brides register for Annieglass?’” Flo shares. “The question is, ‘How many don’t!’ Almost all of the brides who come into our store want Annieglass. Brides are as excited about registering for Annieglass today as 15 years ago.”
Flo heavily influenced me to include a centerpiece bowl in my Ruffle Collection, and it was Miss Flo who taught me what a “happy” is--a sweet Southern tradition of gift giving for no occasion other than to make someone happy. Isn’t that great?
